元素/同位素地球化学；地幔动力学；火成岩岩石学

长期从事地质学和地球化学分析测试技术开发方面科研工作，取得了显著的科学成果。从时间尺度上对古大洋地幔域属性进行了研究，长期专注于特提斯和古亚洲洋地幔域、特提斯构造域和中亚造山带构造演化的研究，以特提斯洋和古亚洲洋蛇绿岩（洋壳残余）为研究对象，利用岩石学、同位素地球化学与化学地球动力学等研究手段，对比古亚洲洋和特提斯洋地幔域属性、构造演化动力学机制，探讨了特提斯构造域和中亚造山带壳幔演化机制，1）厘定了古亚洲洋地幔域低Th/U地幔属性；2）揭示了特提斯地幔域DUPAL异常成因及地球动力学意义；3）建立了地幔域属性与造山带构建模式的内在成因联系；4）揭示了古亚洲洋地幔存在局部的Dupal异常不均一性及海山俯冲；5）提出了中亚造山带洋脊俯冲的构造模式。
