He is a second-class professor and doctoral supervisor of Guilin University of Technology. He has been selected as one of the hundred talents of Liaoning Talents Project and Liaoning Outstanding Young Scholars Support Program.  The main research fields are mechanical properties of deep rock mass, engineering properties of soft rock and surrounding rock reinforcement of underground engineering.  He has presided over the national Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangxi Natural Science Foundation and key laboratory projects.  He has published more than 100 academic papers, including more than 50 papers indexed by SCI/EI, 4 books and teaching materials, 6 authorized invention patents, and 12 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.
